It's An Inside Job
"Where are you the the brightest?" asked my Guide Padam towards the end of a trek in the Himalayas. I responded next to the heater since outside temperatures were dipping towards 20. "No inside," as he pointed towards his heart. Unable to answer, I pointed to the mountains around us.
Six years later after trekking through my own emotional valleys I realized what Padam meant. It's what's Inside that matters especially when the outside world shows up in chaos.

Perceived obstacles abound in the world these days like a café every 20 feet. I react. Usually feeling overwhelmed, scattered and sad. I've resorted to copious doses of humor and what I learned about my inner landscape on an 18,000 foot sojourn through the Himalayas. These strategies are all in full use back at challenging sea level California. Here are some of these Ganesha-inspired, Remover of Obstacles strategies to help settle your inside world when the outside world has gone sideways.
