One of my core essentials to attain maximum wellness is brain health. Specifically what you think and feel leads to how the rest of your body reacts. Learning meditation, sensorial techniques and positive thought detours in my individual or group classes will give you a healthy foundation of brain function and body responses. A great book and emerging approach to aging is “The Telomere Effect” by Elizabeth Blackburn and Elissa Epel. They explain how lifestyle and healthy psychological habits can protect telomeres; the tips of your chromosomes that keep us balanced, disease free and improving life. A reactive mind that telegraphs to areas of the body disruptive impulses shortens our telomeres. When we create a wellness path that blends positive thoughts, emotional flexibility and sensorial awareness our bodies gain positive nourishment. This lifestyle keeps those telomeres elastic and engaged, supporting our bodies to respond in a balanced way. Physical, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies are coherent.
