Winter is Coming
"Autumn" by Rainer Maria Rilke
The leaves are falling, falling as if from far up,
as if orchards were dying high in space.
Each leaf falls as if it were motioning "no."
And tonight the heavy earth is falling
away from all other stars in the loneliness.
We're all falling. This hand here is falling.
And look at the other one. It's in them all.
And yet there is Someone, whose hands
infinitely calm, holding up all this falling.
Someone. And that Someone for me is Nature asking me to fall to trust that it's just the change of season. She nudging me to prepare for winter.
These days life around us seems to be falling....I see the reflection "It's in them all." Deception, egos unleashed, humans out of balance and me scratching at something that's deep underneath. I turn to Nature and take her lead. Warming soups, deep colours and citrine, rosemary, frankincense and grounding yoga poses. All part of my efforts to listen, to feel grounded and to just be. Allowing Someone to hold up all this falling.
Mother Nature has got my attention. How about you? Fires in Northern California, Earthquakes in Mexico, Category 4+ Hurricanes in Puerto Rico, Texas, Florida, Caribbean and just recently Ireland. Leaving in her wraith loss of life, livelihood and precious home. My heart has gone through all the stages of shock and grief. My friends Lisa Walters The EquuSatori Center and Richard Lang, who live near the Tubbs Fire that devoured Santa Rosa embraced what I call "Salt Action"; from tears and fears they responded by doing. They offered up their home to shelter humans, humans fighting the fires and equines displaced by loss of home. From their Salt Action came a sense of calm and community. May their generous acts keep them strong and safe. As Winter approaches may we all appreciate the shelter we have and the Salt Action friends and family that come together and stoke humankind's compassion.
Want to experience a day with Lisa and her horses at The EquuSatori Center? Find out why living in the country and supporting community is just what folks like Lisa and Richard are all about.
Give Shelter. My Salt Action continues 30% of my services and products will be going to Habitat For Humanity now extended through the end of November. Thus Far I've collected $280. Feeling Salty! Many Thanks!
