Choose Earth
“In all of this emptiness, this is a whole bunch of nothing, this thing we call the universe – you have this oasis, this beautiful place that we get to exist together.“
Victor Glover ; Artemis II Pilot & Astronaut
As I watched the Artemis II crew and their Nasa-CSA mission to fly by the moon,
I felt the smallness and the greatness of Humans.
We are just an itsy bitsy part of this universe.
Yet, how amazing our Earth as it exists.
And seen by the astronauts;
Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch and Jeremy Hansen,
in Nasa’s Orion spaceship.
Not cratered.
Not lifeless.
Not silently revolving in our solar system.
Christina Koch; mission specialist, eloquently said while looking at Earth;
“We will always choose Earth. We will always choose each other.”
My attentions were drawn from the current dark underside of Humans
to the Light magnified by the Artemis astronauts.
Hearts and minds synchronized to
the wonder,
the uniqueness,
the co - existence of all beings.
Henry David Thoreau’s quote echos through as the Artemis rounds the dark side of the moon.
“Heaven is under our feet, as well as over our heads.”
As they looked back at our glowing Earth,
from the quiet side of the moon.
The singular blue green planet amidst
the vastness
of the universe
ushers me back towards our current Human condition.
As I see the Earth,
from the Artemis crew’s eyes,
our destiny is to choose Earth
for it is what gives us the courage to venture out
and live our dreams.
Safe home Artemis astronauts.
OMwards!

Sometimes all it takes is a pause. A breath. A new perspective. These brief reflections are offered as touchpoints, gentle reminders to come back to yourself and listen to what’s already guiding you forward.
Lately, I’ve been seeing a collective need to slow down and re-establish equilibrium. When the nervous system softens, clarity follows. In these notes, I’ll share what’s emerging in my work, themes I’m observing with clients, and simple practices that help restore balance when life feels off-center.
