Family Friends Community,
I reread The Velveteen Rabbit by Margery Williams recently.
It is a magical and wise story.
For me the Velveteen Rabbit represents
the soft innocent underbelly of our psyche.
And how the Ego can dominate our psyche starting at the wee~ist of ages.
I remember my Ego terrorizing me about being irresponsible and imperfect.
It was the worst at night when the audible and visual movie started playing in my mind.
Until I received a fluffy and incredibly soft pink dog.
Dr. Pink Dog was and will always be my first therapist.
I carried my pink dog everywhere.
I danced with my pink dog.
Retrieved pink dog from the rubbish bin.
Threw up on my pink dog.
Made clothing for my pink dog.
Mostly pink dog cuddled and listened mightily when the darkness descended.
Pink Dog was ALWAYS with me from the age of 3 to yes now.
Though tucked away in a keepsake chest this pink dog was my first therapist.
All of my fears, anxieties and life challenges were dialoged with "Dr. PD".
This pink stuffed dog, began my inner journey to Know Myself and to know when the Ego was separating me from my truth.
All of us have a Dr. PD,
the only appointment that you have to make is with yourself
and your incredibly soft psyche confidant.
