Fierce Moms
My Mom Mary is fierce.
She, as her Mother Chie, don't process No.
She will win when adversity comes around.
She was born in 1925 and lived through the depression.
She and Family were interned.
She and Family lost it all and built an abundant life after internment.
She is a Mom who raised three women with values, independence and equanimity.
She is a Dietician and made sure we were eating whole foods before it was the thing to eat or a place to shop.
She said Yes to living when she had cancer.
She made sure that no matter who we were becoming that we were always accepted back into the nest.
She worked when we were young, flown and grown.
She made many homes, some on the wrong side of the tracks.
She is the silent Feminist that didn't have time to burn her bras.
She drove, her daughters up and out of the social barriers.
She skied, road her bike in Switzerland and is a Yoga instructor.
She navigated with us, through our relationships, divorces and hers.
She is Grandmother to the J's; Josh, Justine, Josette and Jarrad.
She wore out bravery when her daughter Eileen died.
She is the planet Venus present evening and dawn, brightest when life is the darkest.
She has the best Mom intonation when "My Girls" is spoken.
My Mom Mary,
as Ali,
"floats like a butterfly and stings like a bee."
My Mom Mary,
as Ali,
teaches us,
"service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth."
Gratitude,
For all of our Fierce, Nurturing and Divine Carers.
Happy Mother's Day
